Why this pervasive misconception that wild animals die in their beds attended by vets giving palliative care? Once past their prime, life is brutal, nasty and short. I suspect many of the bunny huggers who have posted will likewise condemn their elderly to intrusive and protracted treatment that salves conscience but strips out choice and dignity (while someone else pays and they collect 100% of the inheritance.) Too many are too far removed from the real cycle of life, never look beyond the cling film and polystyrene trays and think Afghanistan is like a computer game while insisting on 'world peace'.
